Vote Attorney Philip Roberts for Magistrate

Fair, Impartial, and Dedicated to our Community

The Magisterial District 05-2-31 serves Bloomfield, Friendship, Garfield, East Liberty, Highland Park, Morningside, Stanton Heights, and Upper Lawrenceville – the “East End.” I am proud to say I was raised in the East End! My mother, a teacher, and my father, a pastor, raised me and my siblings in Highland Park. From a young age this community has been the fabric of who I am. I grew up working as a life guard at the Highland Park Pool and volunteering at Eastminster Presbyterian Church’s summer camps, youth programs, and music ministries. I could be found playing with friends at Heth’s Park, Highland Park, or Mellon Park. I graduated from Pittsburgh Public’s Schenley High School and was a Pittsburgh Promise recipient. It has been my lifelong passion to be able to serve and give back to our community in the East End. That passion has deepened now that my wife, Christin, and I live in East Liberty with our two children. The people in this community have invested so much in me. I want our neighborhoods to be safe and vibrant for ALL people regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status — a place that we can all be proud to call home.

That’s why I want to Serve

Our community and the people that make it our home are important to me. That is why I serve as a board member of the East End’s Open Hand Housing Ministries. Open Hand Ministries promotes social justice and empowers black and brown Pittsburgh families to build multi-generational wealth. We facilitate affordable home ownership opportunities in our community. I have volunteered, fundraised, and served on behalf of the Westmorland Blackburn Center, The United Way, Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Haiti H2O, and Off the Floor Pittsburgh. In my professional life I serve the public in my role as an Assistant Solicitor for the Allegheny County Law Department. I believe this community deserves a Magistrate who will be compassionate, fair, and accessible. To ensure that I remain fair and unbiased I am refusing to take monetary donations from Pennsylvania attorneys, landlord companies, and big business. If elected, we can restructure our Magistrate court to ensure accessibility, compassion, and public safety. And now, I am asking for your support to help me serve as our Magistrate District Judge.
